Canvas Student Guide
This guide includes step-by-step tutorials for using the different features offered by Canvas.

MyCloud
MyCloud is a UNCG service that offers access to much of the software used for academic and research purposes. You can review this list of software applications to learn what is and isn’t available via MyCloud.

Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365 provides online access to Office applications (like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote) and other classroom tools.

Google Suite

  • Google Drive: Google Drive is the file storage solution that comes with the Google suite of products. You can access Google Drive on your laptop at drive.uncg.edu. You can also download an app for your smart devices that will let you view your Google Drive.
  • Calendar: Share calendars or create a joint calendar with members of your class or institution to keep track of schedules easily.
  • Docs, Sheets, and Slides: Collaborate, share feedback and work together with your classmates in real time on documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Hangouts Meet: Connect with classmates virtually via secure video calls and messaging. You can create a video conference directly from a Google Calendar event.

Box
Everyone with a UNCG account also has a Box account. The Library currently loads eReserves into Canvas courses through Box, so you may find you need to access Box for some of your course readings.

OneDrive
Everyone at UNCG can access Microsoft 365. OneDrive is the file storage solution that comes with Microsoft 365.

Zoom
Zoom is another video conferencing option that allows for online collaboration. Similar to Hangouts Meet, you can set up and attend virtual meetings through Zoom’s web app or through Canvas.

6-TECH Online Service Portal
You can use this portal to learn how to use or troubleshoot problems with any university-supported technology. You can also submit a ticket to request technical assistance.
